# What is SoMon?

[SoMon](https://www.social.monster/) is a Web3 forum app with... Social Monsters! It's as a space where users can create vibrant and engaging [tribes](/somon-app/tribes.md) centered around their interests and topics they love. Somon ensures that tribes, content, and social connections are wholly owned by users with the decentralization of blockchain. Users also have in-app [wallets](/somon-app/wallet.md) at their disposal and can use [on-chain tools](/somon-app/megaphone.md) to monetize their [content](/somon-app/content-guidelines.md) and communities. SoMon is the first dApp powered by [OpenSocial Protocol](https://www.opensocial.co/).
